| Hostelling International-Toledo Area and Metroparks will sponsor the 13th annual Tombstone Bicycle Tour Sunday, October 14. Registration is from 11:00 to 12 noon at the Nature Photography Center in Secor Metropark. Slower riders should start by 11:00 due to early sunset. The park closes promptly at 5:00 p.m. The 38-mile route begins at Secor, with a lunch stop at Oak Openings and a snack stop at MacQueens Orchard. Along the way, costumed riders will pass 11 cemeteries. For a brochure, go to www.hitoledo.org, or call 419-878-6440.
On the same day at Oak Openings, families with children 12 and under are invited to participate in the Family Haunted Ride with a Metroparks naturalist.
Lunch is provided, including the traditional Tombstone Chilli.

Scaring Up Ghosts At Providence
Ghosts of Providence Lantern Tour, a semi-scary evening in a real ghost town, returns Friday and Saturday, October 26-27 at Providence Metropark. Tours times from 7 to 10 p.m. Meet people from the past who dwell in Providence, Ohio, along the scenic Maumee River. Each tour limited to 15 people. Reservations needed. Price: $5 (children 6-11 free). Not recommended for children under 5. |

The History Of Halloween
Halloween is the theme of the first installment of the new Making Memories series at the Wildwood Manor House, Wednesday, October 10 from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. Bring your child to this after-school program to hear a story about the history of Halloween, play games and make a fun party treat. Reservations needed and parent participation required.
